Take a journey into the world of dream haiku, crafting short poems in response to dreams. Bring a night dream/dreams if you have them; otherwise you can use waking life experiences which have felt dreamlike as writing prompts. We will write poems of 17 syllables over three lines – 5-7-5. This Japanese poetic form provides a perfect vehicle for catching an image, an understanding or an essence of a dream.

Dream Haiku brings together Asha’s interests in dreams and haiku. She has run face-to-face and online workshops on dream haiku. Her Underwater Words project is a recent haiku lockdown venture – a collaboration with colleagues at Swansea University and 106 contributors.
