Author Judy Darley invites you to an atmospheric evening of readings and music on the themes of sky, light, and rain to celebrate the launch of her second collection of short stories and flash fiction.

Drawing on Judy's enduring fascination with the fallibility of the human mind, Sky Light Rain examines aspects of human existence, our relationship to nature and to each other. Alongside Judy, participants include writers Paul Deaton, Kevlin Henney and Grace Palmer, and indie art-pop musician Hidden Tide.

Speakers

Judy Darley’s writing has been published by magazines and anthologies in the UK, New Zealand, US and Canada. Sky Light Rain is her second short fiction collection.

Paul Deaton’s Seren collection A Watchful Astronomy was a Poetry Book Society Winter Recommended Book. He co-edited The Poetry Business's Running Anthology.

Kevlin Henney has organised numerous literary events, including National Flash Fiction Day and Flash in Hand. His stories have won and placed in numerous competitions.

Grace Palmer's writing appears in Flashback Fiction, Riggwelter Press, Magma, and others. She founded and runs Novel Nights and teaches writing at Bristol Folk House.

Hidden Tide uses distorted guitar, programmed loops and thought-provoking lyrics to create sweeping dark electronica. Gigs include sets at Mr Wolf’s and the Louisiana.
