Writers Unchained: Tales of Our City

Updated: Sep 1, 2019

7pm, 20 October

Southbank Club, £5

From swashbuckling scallywags to sublime street artists... in Bristol you expect the unexpected. For this special Story Sunday event, come and enjoy a pleasant drink at the Southbank Club while hearing tales of the city's people, heritage and secrets.

This spoken word event, featuring guest novelist and spoken word poet Lucy English, showcases the very best fiction writers of the South West, with ten stories chosen via a submissions process. It is run by local literary group Writers Unchained.

Speakers

Since the group was formed more than twenty years ago, Writers Unchained members have achieved success on many levels: winning prizes, gaining qualifications, finding agents, and publishing novels in a range of genres.

Writers Unchained is proud to be a part of Bristol’s creative culture and we enjoy engaging with other like-minded people, groups and organisations. We participate in spoken word events, attend publishers fairs and writers conferences, and run regular storytelling events at the Southbank Club in Southville.
