The era we live in has been dubbed the Anthropocene, to denote the significant human impact on earth’s geology and ecosystems. Climate change is one major example. Human influence on nature has rendered the future uncertain. What does love look like in these times?
Is love possible, is there any point to it? Can love bring light to our lives in what appear to be dark times? Can love rescue us and the world?
In this workshop, we will invite participants to consider love in all its forms and shapes – love of two people for each other, parental love, love of nature... and so on.
As in previous years, there will be a mixture of orientation, discussion, readings and writing exercises. Refreshments are provided. There is disabled access.
Organisers
Bristol Climate Writers was formed in January 2017 by Deborah Tomkins, Caroline New, and Kevin McCabe. The group consists of writers working in fiction, journalism, memoir, travel writing, poetry, science blogging, and more. We explore all aspects of the growing climate and environmental crisis, and believe there is no type of writing that cannot touch on these issues. Past workshops have included Writing Climate Change, and Finding the Positive: Dystopias and Utopias in a Changing Climate.
